Shameless

Shameless Synopsis

Shameless – the semi-autobiographical series created by Paul Abbott – follows the lives and times of the dysfunctional Gallagher family, set on The Chatsworth Estate. Raised by their eldest sister since mum went AWOL and dad hit the bottle, the six Gallagher children, Fiona, Lip, Ian, Carl, Debbie and Liam, have had to explore life’s ups and downs without the help of regular adult influence.

Over eleven series, Shameless charts the wickedly unpredictable chapters of family life against the backdrop of a passionate and unlikely affair struggling to survive the pressures of an uncompromising environment. Over these years, we watch as the children grow up to become semi-respectable adults, tackling the trials and tribulations of everyday life on the way.

Constantly socially aware, Shameless boldly tackles taboo subjects head on, such as sexuality, relationships and family dynamics in an open and honest way, giving the audience real insight into the harsh realities of life on a housing estate.
