Agatha Christie’s Sparkling Cyanide brings the storytelling genius of one of the 20th century’s greatest ever crime writers straight into the 21st-century. In this 2-hour TV movie, a classic mystery is updated and relocated to a glamorous world of London socialites and secret agents, introducing two unique and compelling investigators and taking us through to the highest corridors of power.
After a Chairman’s wife is found dead at a glitzy London hotspot, MI5 detectives Geoffrey and Catherine are called in to investigate. To the public eye, Geoffrey and Catherine are a seemingly dull and ordinary middle aged couple… however, to the MI5, they are a valuable and precious commodity.
And so Geoffrey and Catherine have to make their excuses to their visiting daughter and set out on the trail of the murderer. There’s no shortage of suspects, but suspicions fall inevitably upon the chairman. Until he too is murdered…
