The Village Synopsis
From BAFTA-winning writer Peter Moffat, The Village is a family saga set in a Derbyshire village, through which we see the story of twentieth-century English history play out. This first series spans the early years of the First World War and the second series continues into the 1920’s; an era of jazz, politics and social upheaval.
Narrated from the present day by the oldest man in Britain, Bert Middleton, who has lived across the entire one hundred years, The Village offers an examination of who we think we are and why. History without hindsight; the past as the present told through big, bold story-making with forensic textural detail and colour.
